Being nominated for an Academy Award for your animated short can generate plenty of attention, but it can be a wait for any deals to come through. Timothy Reckart scored a golden gong for his ‘toon Head Over Heels in 2012 but is only now able to announce that he’s working on a film for Sony Pictures Animation called **The Lamb.

Not much is known about the film yet besides that title and the rough story, which was pitched by Tom Sheridan, and finds a young sheep whose destiny is to change the world. Cue Aardman’s Shaun looking jealously on.

“I can’t imagine a more exciting project for my animated feature debut,” said Reckart in a statement carried by Variety. “The story is profound and moving, the characters have deep, powerful desires, the pastoral imagery is gorgeous, and it’s a film that can only be done in animation.” There’s no indication yet of when the film will be released.

Head Over Heels, which sees a married couple who have literacy grown apart and reduced to living separately in their house – on the floor, one on the ceiling – is now online for your entertainment. Take a look below.
