Following the box office success of The Nightmare Before Christmas 3D, it has become Disney's plan to release the film every year for your festive ocular amusement. But now it'll be even more 3D. How, you ask. Will it carress my eye-balls with it's bony fingers? Will it frost fine nose with its wintry precipitation? Will it leap into my lap with a plasticiney squelch? No, you great loveable daft fool. But it will have an extra 3D short before it.
Burton's first animated short, the gorgeous Vincent – which is available on the Nightmare Before Christmas DVD - is being gussied up as an extra sticky-out treat to show before the film when it's released again this November. For those who haven't seen Vincent – and you really should – it's the story of a small boy who's obsessed with Vincent Price (who narrates the piece) and disappears into his own odd daydreams. It's the birth of every Burton film you care to imagine.
If this goes well maybe we could see all Burton's works being 3D-irized in the future. Except Planet of the Apes. We do not speak of Planet of the Apes.
