Josh Hartnett Gets Soaked In The Rain

Hollywood heartthrob and ex-Mr Johansson Josh Hartnett has signed up for I Come With The Rain, a drama about a private detective (ol' chiseled-features himself) who travels to the Far East in search of a missing heir (to what, we're not sure) who has the power to heal with a touch. All this despite the fact that the detective is haunted by a past encounter with a serial killer, poor lamb. The whole thing's due to shoot in Hong Kong in June, with The Scent of Green Papaya's Tran Anh Hung writing and directing.

American Rating Becomes Film! Confusion Abounds!

A new film is coming out called NC-17, a teen noir film wherein four seventeen year-olds come together to mastermind a crime. The film was written by The Mexican screenwriter JH Wyman, who's also making his directorial debut and producing the film, due to start shooting at the end of the year. Teen movie? New production company? We're prepared to bet, right here and now, that the film isn't rated any higher than an R, and quite possibly a PG-13.

Get Aboard the Ark

In news that could have come in handy for Josh Hartnett before the rain came (see above for that not-very-funny joke), Columbia Pictures and fast-and-furious producer Neil Moritz are ganging up to make The Ark, a big-budget film of a Dark Horse comic that manages the nifty trick of marrying the story of Noah's Ark to a UFO landing. Frankly, the idea's just bizarre enough to work, but coming as it will on the (rather soggy) heels of this summer's Evan Almighty and Darren Aronofsky's untitled Noah project, this could be a bit too much Old Testament for the world to take.
