Someone else is suing Borat
In the world’s bid to leave Sacha Baron Cohen with absolutely no money, another unwitting member of the Borat cast is suing his bethonged ass. A South Carolina man has claimed he was “accosted” by Cohen who, while posing as a toilet attendant while making the film, stared at his little South Carolina man. The footage didn’t actually appear in the film, but was shown on the internet. Tomorrow we’ll be suing Cohen because we laughed a bit too hard during the film, causing us to spill our Diet Coke on our trousers, leading to an embarrassing damp patch that caused us significant distress. Damn you Borat! You’ve not heard the end of this.
Biopic coming for Rick James…bitch!
Longest Yard writer Sheldon Turner, who’s also writing X-Men spin-off Magneto, has been hired to write Super Freak, the story of funk singer Rick James, who suffered problems with drugs and the law. Turner says he’s not writing the typical rags-to-riches-to-syringes independently produced biopic. Dave Chapelle has so far been in no mention in connection with this film. Which is not right.
Another comic book on its way
Carey Malloy, who you may remember from such films as That Thing, Doodah and Oh You Know The One (ok, he doesn’t appear to have done anything else), has been hired by Universal to adapt the comic book Tag. Tag concerns a man given an ancient curse by a passing stranger, which causes him to decompose before his eyes. He must decide whether to die from the curse or pass it on to someone else. We think Teri Hatcher has it.
Nothing’s happening today apart from the Globes
I Heart Huckabees writer Jeff Baena (you see that Carey Malloy? He’s done work, you lazy ass) is writing The Awakening of Jean-Luc Barbara, a battle of the sexes comedy. The film will mark the directorial debut of commercial maker Justin Reardon. Tell everyone!
