Third Hobbit Video Blog Arrives

As we write this, the vast majority of the Hobbit cast and crew is taking a well-earned break after completing the first block of shooting on the two films. So for the latest video blog, Peter Jackson has decided to take this opportunity to show them talking about their favourite memories of the initial filming period.

It’s certainly an enlightening set of interviews, sprinkled liberally with shots of the team in action. If we had to pick a favourite, it would probably be footage of Andy Serkis as Gollum in his cave stalking/confronting Martin Freeman’s Bilbo.

But there’s plenty more to see and hear, with the actors trying to recall all the 13 dwarves’ names and revelations about nudity and beard envy.

Oh, and there’s also an odd little moment of Pete trying to track down Andy Serkis and ending up at Pinewood Studios. And a surprise cameo at the end!

Plus Jackson has gone on the record about the apparent lack of Hobbit presence at Comic-Con this year, explaining that while he was offered the chance, he decided not to try to bring anything as he felt it was too early. Well, it’s not like he doesn’t have next year to wow the crowds with completed footage. You surely know this by now, but The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey arrives on December 14, 2012, with **The Hobbit: There and Back Again **scheduled for a year later.
