All sorts can go down in a dimly-lit bar in the movies – the sort of moody drinking-hole where tensions bubble over, boozing leads to blood spilled, and shadowy figures reveal hidden secrets. And The Oak Room, from Canadian filmmaker Cody Calahan, promises plenty of drama over a drink or two, with a clash of characters and a mysterious story on a snowy night likely to settle an old score. Check out Empire's exclusive look at the movie's trailer.
Well doesn't that look like a dark and twisted tale? Here's The Oak Room's official synopsis: "During a raging snowstorm, drifter Steve (Breaking Bad's RJ Mitte) returns home to the blue-collar bar located in the remote Canadian town where he was born. When he offers to settle an old debt with a grizzled bartender by telling him a story, the night's events quickly spin into a dark tale of mistaken identities, double-crosses and shocking violence."
Check out the UK artwork for the film here, where a shock of violence amid the frost-bitten landscape suggests The Oak Room itself is far from a welcoming or safe place.

Starring alongside Mitte are the likes of Peter Outerbridge, Ari Millen, Nicholas Campbell and Martin Roach. The Oak Room comes to UK screens on digital download from 26 April.
