Almost 10 years ago, several giggling idiots gathered in a podbooth to talk about films. There was news. There were reviews. There was lots and lots of nonsense. And so, the Empire Podcast was born!
As we approach our 10 year pod-iversary, the countdown to our 500th (yes! We’ve invaded your ears for that many weeks!) episode begins, and the celebrations are going to be epic. Mark your calendars now, folks – for on Saturday 5 February 2022, we are bringing you a glorious all-day Empire Podcast extravaganza, hosted by our good friends at King’s Place in London.
The day will consist of three separate live sessions. We’d love to see you at one, two, or (hopefully!) all three. As an extra incentive to come along to multiple events, you can get a discount on your tickets too – 10% off if you purchase tickets for the 3pm and 7pm shows, and 15% off if you nab a place at all three of them. First up, at 12:30pm – the first ever Empire Podcast quiz! Team captains James Dyer and Helen O’Hara will go head to head, with fiendishly difficult questions coming from quizmaster and podcast host Chris Hewitt. Expect plenty of film-related fun, a bad impressions round, spot prizes and much, much more.

Then, at 3pm, we’ll be putting on a live jamboree of brand new editions of some of your favourite formats from the podcast. There’ll be a live Three Fact Structure (you know you love it), a Ranking (the topic of which will be decided by you!) and a Spoiler Special, which will feature a special guest from the movie we’re diving into the details of.

And last but certainly not least, at 7pm, it’s time for the 500th episode itself! Join us for a live recording of the weekly podcast, where the team will review the week’s movies, discuss the latest developments in movie news, talk to some amazing guests, and take questions from the audience. Warning – may get emotional!
