Given that he spends his time either dodging violence or getting mixed up in the middle of it in The Boys, we'd figure that Jack Quaid would feel right at home in the serial killer-afflicted world of Scream. Which is good news, since he's joining the cast of the new movie.

According to Variety, the actor has been cast in the reboot/sequel (rebootquel), which is being wreathed in mystery, plot-wise, but is set to welcome back the likes of Courteney Cox and David Arquette, plus Neve Campbell as Sydney Prescott, if her deal closes.

Quaid will be joined by fellow franchise newcomers Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, in the film, which James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick wrote and Ready Or Not duo Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett will direct later this year in North Carolina. Paramount has now scheduled the movie for release on 14 January, 2022.
