Things are looking sweet for writer Max Barry. Fortress Entertainment has optioned his satirical novel Syrup – and he’s been hired to adapt it.

The book tells of Scat, a twenty-something slacker who dreams up a million-dollar idea for a new drink. But he has to deal with a beautiful, miniskirt wearing corporate assassin who is either the love of his life, or just ripping his idea off.
