Five British detectives are on their way over to Hollywood to escort a stuntman back to the UK to face a murder rap. 28 year old South African-born Neville van der Merwe is accused of the kidnap and murder of Simon Law, a Kent accountant, in 1991. van der Merwe, who appeared in several TV films, is alleged to have been hired by a former business partner of Law's after a currency deal went sour. The body of the 36 year old accountant was never recovered but traces of his blood were found in the boot of a car borrowed by friend Glen Chait and himself when they visited the country at the time of the killing. When Law disappeared warrants were issued for the pair's arrest and Chait was caught and subsequently committed suicide in prison. The trial is expected to start at next year.
