Steven Spielberg is at home in Los Angeles today recovering, following surgery to remove one of his kidneys. The decision to remove one of the director's kidneys was taken following a routine doctor's examination when an irregularity was found in one of them. 'He's doing fine,' stressed Spielberg's spokeman Marvin Levy, 'He's returning to work now.. he's lookign at projects and scripts already.' According to medical experts, the most likely reason for the removal of a kidney is the discovery of a cancerous growth on it - however Levy would not be drawn as to the cause of the operation.
