A man who stalked Steven Spielberg has been sentenced to 25 years in prison under California's "Three Strike" rule - which increases penalties for repeating offenders. Jonathan Norman, 31, had two previous felony convictions and was arrested after making two attempts to enter Spielberg's home. He was said to be sexually obsessed with Spielberg and was carrying handcuffs, a roll of tape and a razor knife - equipment the prosecution called a "rape kit." The court heard that Norman planned to attack the Oscar winning director in front of his wife. Speilberg told the court, "Had Jonathan Norman actually confronted me, I genuinely, in my heart of hearts, believe that I would have been raped or maimed or killed. If he's out on the street, I will live in fear. . . the prospect that [he] might have another opportunity to carry out his threats is beyond frightening to me."
