Spielberg Confirms Jurassic Park IV Work

You may recall that last month, word leaked out about Steven Spielberg spitballing ideas for a fourth trip to Jurassic Park. Well, as part of his first-ever trip to Comic-Con, Spielberg was asked directly about the issue during the panel for Tintin today. And he was happy to open up on the matter.

“We have a story, I can happily announce,” Spielberg said to the cheering crowds in Hall H. “We have a writer who is writing the treatment and hopefully we are going to make Jurassic Park IV in all of your foreseeable futures – all of our foreseeable futures – hopefully, in the next two or three years.”

While he wouldn’t be drawn on the name of the writer, those recent reports had** I Am Legend**’s Mark Protosevich as the man who was at least helping to develop the ideas. Whether he stays aboard to actually crank out the script is another matter.

And, naturally, Spielberg wouldn’t be drawn on any details, but for now we can at least content ourselves with the idea that the man who helped launched the Jurassic Park movies is actively involved in bringing us another one. The big question is… does the world truly need one? Guess we’ll find out in a couple of years.
