Specter vs. MGM

Specter Associates have joined with Sony in a bid to create their own James Bond franchise. Specter head Kevin McClory produced the 1965 Bond film Thunderball and claims to have won a suit giving him rights to its characters. Sony chief John Calley is the former head of MGM which claims ownership of the James Bond franchise. MGM's 18th Bond film Tommorow Never Dies is being released on December 19th. MGM chairman and CEO Frank Mancuso says McClory's "claim that he can start a James Bond franchise is delusional".
