Solo: A Star Wars Story

You’ve maybe seen him in dodgy leaked promo images. You’ve seen a tiny bit more of him in the Super Bowl TV spot. Now, get your first proper look at Alden Ehrenreich’s young Han Solo in action — the full trailer for the second Star Wars spin-off, Solo, has just debuted on Good Morning America.

The trailer introduces a cocky young Han (“I’m gonna be a pilot… the best in the galaxy”), with glimpses of Emilia Clarke’s Qi’Ra, Woody Harrelson’s team-assembling Tobias, and Thandie Newton’s as-yet-unnamed character. Alongside the newbies are the Star Wars favourites you were hoping for — notably Chewbacca unleashing a weary growl, and Donald Glover looking at his most Billy Dee Williams as the young Lando Calrissian. There’s also glimpses at a box-fresh Millennium Falcon corridor, and Han reaching for his trusty blaster.

The end of the trailer shows off one of the film’s action set pieces, with Han evading TIE fighters in the Falcon, before swooping towards some kind of tentacled creature. Is it some kind of un-pitted relative of the Sarlacc?

Fans won’t have to pore over the trailer for too long before they get answers — Solo: A Star Wars Story is due for release in the UK on May 25.
