Social Network Trailer Goes Interactive

What Universal started with the interactive Scott Pilgrim trailer is spreading, as now Sony have decided to get into the game and retrofit The Social Network’s trailer with all-new shiny bells and whistles.

It seems fitting, given that the movie deals with the birth of Facebook, surely the one place in the world where you can lose hours clicking on your friends’ profiles and looking at pictures, reading links or watching videos.

This upgraded promo promises around 40 nuggets of info about the film, Facebook itself and the main players featured in David Fincher’s latest. Now you have no excuse not to enjoy the excellent choral version of Radiohead’s Creep while you check out articles and wonder just how many minutes a week you lose to the site. A tip of the virtual hat to Collider for the trailer spot.

The film itself is gaining some excellent early notices from screenings held at the Toronto Film Festival and beyond, and we can’t wait to get a look.

You’ll be able to catch the movie in cinemas from October 15, and there’s an exclusive, excellent on-set piece about the movie in this month’s issue of Empire.
