Paramount and Hasbro might have recently announced that the companies are kicking off development on a newG.I. Joeensemble film, but work continues apace on spin-off Snake Eyes, which has Crazy Rich Asians' Henry Golding in the title role. Now we know who will be playing his blood-brother-turned-nemesis Storm Shadow: Andrew Koji.

Like Snake Eyes, Storm Shadow was created by Marvel Comics writer-editor Larry Hama. He debuted in 1984 on the pages of G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero comic series, before appearing that same year in the second animated miniseries using the characters. As depicted in the comics and on screen, Storm Shadow is a Japanese-American special forces soldier and member of the fictional Arashikage ninja clan. He ends up becoming part of the terrorist organisation known as COBRA, which puts him at odds with Snake Eyes.

Robert Schwentke is directing the new movie, based on Evan Spiliotopoulos' script, which explores the pre-G.I Joe days of both characters. It'll sneak into cinemas in October next year.
