There has been a change in the cast for the new comedy from Borat and Ali G writer Ant Hines. Shailene Woodley is stepping in for Emma Roberts to star in Robots alongside Jack Whitehall.

Hines and Klown's Casper Christensen wrote the screenplay, which is based on the short story by science fiction writer Robert Sheckley, and will co-direct the eventual film. The tale follows Charles (Whitehall) and Elaine (Woodley), who trick people into relationships with illegal robot doubles of themselves until they unwittingly use the scam on each other. Their robot doubles fall in love and elope, forcing Charles and Elaine to team up to hunt them down before the authorities discover their secret.

“At a time when comedies are needed more than ever, I couldn’t be more delighted than to have Shailene and Jack team up to play the leads in this movie,” Hines says in a statement picked up by Deadline. The cameras should be rolling this August in New Mexico.
