Shaft Cast Collates

Actor-comedian John Leguizamo is finalising a deal to join the cast of Shaft, director John Singleton's remake of the classic 1971 film. Leguizamo is set to appear as villain Peoples Hernandez in the flick which is to start shooting in New York in August. He'll be opposite Samuel L. Jackson, who heads the cast as the New York P.I. and sex machine John Shaft. Leguizamo, however, will next be seen by the masses in Disney's serial killer picture Summer of Sam, directed by the great Spike Lee. Hitting cinema screens July 30, the film premieres in the Directors Fortnight at next month's 52nd Cannes Film Festival.
