English actor, Rufus Sewell, is the latest in a long line of movie stars to put their film careers on hold in order to 'do Shakespeare' on the London stage. Unlucky for some it may be, but Sewell has signed up to play the Bard's murderous Macbeth at theatres around the UK for at least a four month stretch. Sewell's past acting credits include BBC's period drama Middlemarch and Meet Frank, Daniel And Laurence. Other stars poised for theatrical work include English Patient star Ralph Fiennes who returned to the stage as Hamlet and later in Chekhov, and Ewan McGregor who opens in the comedy Little Malcolm And His Struggle Against The Eunuchs in Hampstead. Sally Dexter who will play Lady Macbeth has starred on stage in Patrick Marber's hit play Closer as well as playing Nancy in Oliver! Macbeth is produced by Thelma Holt and begins its run at the Theatre Royal in Bath for 10 days from 3 February. It will run for a week at Sheffield's Lyceum Theatre and will open at the Queen's Theatre in London, on 3 March for 14 weeks.
