Devastatingly talented and really, really ridiculously good-looking, Ayrton Senna was motor-racing's matinee idol and arguably the greatest Formula One driver ever to grace the sport. He was also a tragic figure who met with an untimely end during the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix. He remains the last F1 driver to die behind the wheel and retains an aura of mystique that filmmaker Asif Kapadia delves into in his acclaimed documentary Senna.

The film, which debuts its new trailer, tells the Brazilian's story. It flaunts his awesome feats of speed; daredevil driving that often put him at odds with his more cautious rival and McLaren-Honda teammate, Alain Prost. Their's was a rivalry for the ages, like Borg versus McEnroe, Fischer versus Spassky, and Roy Keane versus everyone else.

The doc sees Kapadia, best known for two commendable features, Far North and The Warrior, as well as one ropey one, The Return, add another string to his bow. Head over to Empire's piece on documentary-makers to watch for more on him. Or if you want to get some multi-coloured bricks into your day - and frankly, who doesn't - you can watch the trailer in Lego here.

**Senna **is out on June 3.
