If you're having a slightly low-key Wednesday, here's some Benedict Cumberbatch to brighten the whole thing up enormously, with an exclusive new image from The Imitation Game that features in the new issue of Empire (we've added another image there for good measure because we're nice that way).

Our exclusive image shows Cumberbatch as Turing when the latter was at the peak of his powers, sinking his teeth into the supposedly unbreakable Enigma code and basically winning the War for us. His reward, of course, was to be hounded for his sexuality by the state, making this a less than totally cheery biopic. The second picture there gives you a taste of that.

It's all directed by Headhunters' Morten Tyldum, who told the magazine this month that, "It was not the kind of movie I was looking for, but I was so touched by the screenplay. This is a movie that's a tribute to how important it is to have people who think differently, who are not fitting into the norm."

The film also stars Keira Knightley, Matthew Goode, Mark Strong, Rory Kinnear, Allen Leech, Tuppence Middleton and Charles Dance, and **The Imitation Game ** will hit our screens on November 14. You can read more about it in this month's **Empire **magazine, on sale tomorrow, and to make sure you never miss an issue you can subscribe here{ =nofollow}.
