Scramble for first Di film

Shots are being fired in the Princess Diana biopic war. Andrew Morton, the most controversial of her biographers, has sold the film rights of his updated bestseller, Diana Her True Story Told - In her Own Words. The buyer is film producer Martin Poll, whose previous Diana movie set a ratings record for BSkyB. Poll's other films include Sly Stallone's police cop drama Nighthawks (1981) and Lion In Winter (1968), starring Peter O' Toole and Katharine Hepburn as a pair of bickering mediaeval royals. Morton's sale has been loudly condemned by Diana's brother Earl Spencer. Meanwhile, Dublin-based Stone Ridge Entertainment have bought Dicing With Di, written by paparazzi Glen Harvey and Mark Saunders. However Stone Ridge is at pains to point out that their forthcoming film called Paparazzi is nothing whatsoever to do with Diana or the publicity surrounding her death. Honestly.
