Sean Connery and Sony are joining forces to erect 'the first Hollywood studio in Britain', according to reports. Edinburgh is set to be the scene of the $85 million studio which plans to churn out at least 20 films in its first five years. According to The Sunday Times, the deal could result in Connery returning as James Bond in a Sony remake of Thunderball. The film studio could be operating in the actor's home city by 2001, with a deal set to be inked in by Christmas. The project would bring hundreds of jobs to the city, ranging from security and catering to film technicians and actors. Connery already has a US-based film production company named after the area of Edinburgh where he once worked as a milkman, Fountainbridge Films.
