Scarlett Is Not That Into You

But she's also got The Spirit

Scarlett Is Not That Into You

You may notice that a lot of projects are being greenlit at the moment - that's because there are rumours of an actors' strike in Hollywood next year that could cripple productions not lined up before that point. So Scarlett Johansson has wisely got her name down for no less than three separate projects.

First of all, she's joined the ludicrously all-star cast of He's Just Not That Into You. She' ll play a pilates instructor and aspiring actress (well, there are lots of them in LA) who has an affair with a married man and hopes that he'll leave his wife for her. We're guessing that said married man is Bradley Cooper, once of Alias and The Wedding Crashers, who's married to Jennifer Connelly in the film. Meanwhile, Kevin Connolly, of The Notebook and Entourage, is pining after Johansson's character.

But that's not all she has on her To Do list. She'll also be taking a femme fatale role in The Spirit in October, the Frank Miller directed, Will Eisner-based comic book film starring Gabriel Macht as the titular masked hero. She'll play a "sexy and intelligent secretary with a vindictive instinct" called Silk N. Floss, the accomplice to Samuel L. Jackson's The Octopus (and yes, that would appear to mean that he's confirmed for that role). Scarlett as a baddie? About blooming time - she's got an edge to her that hasn't really been explored so far.

And last but not least she's been confirmed for Mary Queen of Scots, with UK shooting due to start next spring. It's the story of Mary's relationship with the Earl of Bothwell and her rivalry with her half-brother James, as the ill-fated queen really begins to screw her life up.
