The last time we saw Sandra Bullock getting out of prison on screen, it was the prelude to the jaunty Ocean's 8. But the opening shots of The Unforgivable suggest a much darker story to follow (with shades of TV's Back To Life. Check out the first trailer for the new Netflix film.

Bullock here plays Ruth Slater, who is released from prison after serving a sentence for a violent crime. She re-enters a society that refuses to forgive her past. Facing severe judgment from the place she once called home, her only hope for redemption is finding the estranged younger sister she was forced to leave behind...

Bullock's done well for Netflix in the past – Bird Box was a big success for the streaming service, and this looks like it could be a solid drama, with Vincent D'Onofrio, Jon Bernthal, Richard Thomas, Linda Emond and Aisling Franciosi also in the cast.
