Rotten Scripts

John Lydon, who once stalked the streets of London, swearing at tv presenters, in the guise of Johnny Rotten, is to act as a consultant on a movie adaptation of his autobiography, Rotten: No Irish, No Blacks, No Dogs. The film will be based on the birth of punk and Lydon will be involved in overseeing the script and helping choose the screenwriter, director and cast. "The film will be more a portrayal of the social, cultural and political times of England in the 1970s than a story of the Sex Pistols," says Lydon's manager Eric Gardner, who is a co-producer of the project. What's the betting Malcolm McLaren won't come out of it too well?
