Sooner or later, almost every comic here or across the pond seemingly decides that what they really want to do is switch to Proper Acting. The results have been mixed, but that’s not stopping anyone. And now Ross Noble is dipping his toes into the murky cinematic waters, as he’s been hired to star in horror comedy Stitches.

Conor McMahon wrote the script and will direct the film, which finds Noble as Richard ‘Stitches’ Grindle, a bored birthday party clown who is unexpectedly killed while trying to entertain a particularly nasty pack of kids.

But in true horror fashion, that’s not the end of the story. Years later, the kids (now teenagers) are at another party, and Stitches shows up to wreak terrible vengeance for what happened.

Tommy Knight, best known for playing Luke in The Sarah Jane Adventures, is on board as one of the teens.

McMahon has some form in the genre, having worked on the likes of Hotel Darklight, Dead Meat and the TV series Zombie Bashers. Noble is more likely to be seen on panel games or in his own comedy specials, though he’s had small roles in Breeze Block and The Hunt For Tony Blair.
