Rooney Mara is about to return to UK screens later this month in Guillermo del Toro's Nightmare Alley. She's got her eye on a future role, making a deal to play cinematic icon Audrey Hepburn in a new biopic from Call Me By Your Name director Luca Guadagnino.

Apple is backing the new movie, which features a script by Michael Mitnick. Not much is known about what part of Hepburn's life will be featured in the film, but she certainly has an interesting life to bring to the screen. An acting legend celebrated for her performances in classics like Breakfast At Tiffany’s, My Fair Lady, Wait Until Dark, Charade and Sabrina, Hepburn's four-decade career saw her achieve EGOT status, with the Grammy received posthumously. She was also a dedicated humanitarian, working with UNICEF to help children in Africa, South America and Asia and receiving the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992.

Mara most recently finished working on Sarah Polley's latest, Women Talking, which doesn't yet have a release date.
