Like many award ceremonies of late, this year's British Independent Film Awards had to go virtual. With Tom Felton serving as online host, the ceremony saw the films such as Rocks and His House win several trophies.

Rocks was the big success story of the night, earning four awards on the night (Best British Independent Film, Kosar Ali as Best Supporting Actress and Most Promising Newcomer, while D’Angelou Osei Kissiedu won Best Supporting Actor) added to the Best Casting trophy that Lucy Pardee won from the craft awards in January.

His House saw Remi Weeks named Best Director, while Wunmi Mosaku scored Best Actress. Anthony Hopkins' performance in The Father saw him land Best Actor, while the film's screenwriters Florian Zeller and Christopher Hampton took Best Screenplay.

Debut Director went to Saint Maud's Rose Glass while Debut Screenwriter was handed (virtually) to Riz Ahmed for Mogul Mowgli, who shared the prize with co-writer Bassam Tariq. Nomadland, meanwhile, added to its awards haul thanks to Best International Independent Film.
