London production company Inspired Movies has snatched up the rights to African drama A Bend In The River by Nobel winner VS Naipaul.

The tale follows an Indian shopkeeper in post-colonial Africa who becomes entangled in the chaos following the rise of a despotic leader.

There is no casting or director announced yet, but the book is being adapted by screenwriter Farrukh Dhondy.
