A paparazzi photographer has pleaded not guilty to unnecessary aggression when trying to get pictures of Reese Witherspoon with her children last month. Todd Wallace, 44, has been charged with assault after pursuing the family through a Californian Disney theme park last month, when the actress was celebrating her six-year-old daughter’s birthday. Wallace is alleged to have struck a five-year-old girl with his camera and shoved two theme park employees out of the way to get to Witherspoon. If convicted, he could face up to three-and-a-half years in jail. Mr Wallace faces four counts of battery, one count of false imprisonment and causing and permitting a child to suffer, and one count of inflicting unjustifiable mental suffering. Outside court he claimed he had done nothing wrong and had photo and video evidence to prove it, but that didn’t stop Orange County Superior Court Commissioner George Berenson from ordering him to stay 300 yards away from the actress. This incident follows the Governator’s decision to strengthen damages against aggressive paparazzi, as we previously reported here.
