Reese Witherspoon is racking up her future roles, as news breaks today of a more serious role for the American actress. ScreenDaily reports that Witherspoon will star in a movie about Amy Biehl, the slain human rights activist. Biehl, an American Fulbright scholar, was working in South Africa in 1993 to help end apartheid. Whilst taking her friends home in Capetown one night, her car was surrounded, Biehl dragged out of the car and stabbed and stoned to death. Both Witherspoon and Biehl were at college together at Stanford and, according to the film's director Anant Singh, 'Reese knew of Amy and they are like-minded people'. The script is currently being worked on by screenwriter Joanna Baldwin.
