'The Red Violin' has swept the Canadian film industry's Genie awards

Francois Girard's historical epic, 'The Red Violin', which tells the story of a violin that passes from owner to owner over four countries, has swept the Canadian film industry's Genie awards. The flick triumphed in no less than seven categories, including best picture. The film, which stars Samuel L. Jackson and Greta Scacchi, also earned Girard the award for best director.
