American Adventure World, one of this country's biggest theme parks, is trying to buy the replica of the Titanic used for James Cameron's movie. They plan to use the 77-feet long, $12,000,000-dollar set as a massive exhibition in homage to the film. A spokesman for the theme park said acquiring the replica Titanic would be "a real coup," and added, "It would reverse the trend of wealthy Americans buying up parts of England's heritage and it would also be fitting for the Titanic to return home." Perhaps someone should tell them that (a) it's not real, and (b) that even if it was real, the Titanic didn't set sail from Derbyshire. Besides, they'll probably want the set for Titanic II...
It’s not real, chaps
