Marti Noxon – who’s best known for working with Joss Whedon on Buffy – is sticking with the supernatural for her first crack at film scripting.
She’s rewriting an idea tentatively titled The Curse, which was dreamt up by Sam Raimi and brother Ivan. The story involves a young woman in an asylum dealing with doctors, nurses, monsters, and a witch that may or may not all be in her mind. Noxon describes it as mixing The Evil Dead with Buffy.
Raimi’s Ghost House pictures will produce the film. "I think they wanted me because they wanted something that had a bit of comedy, and it has a feel that is in the Buffy vein, so I'm honoured to be a part of it," said Noxon. No start date is set yet.
