Psst… Wanna hear a story? Paramount and MTV think you do, which is why they’ve bought Ned Vizzini’s young-adult novel It’s Kind Of A Funny Story.

The book, according to the spiel, is a teen-centric One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest, featuring hilarity ahoy when a depressed 15-year-old checks himself into a psychiatric ward. Don’t worry: he gains a fresh outlook on life and emerges all the happier. Hooray!

Ryan Fleck, who scored Sundance kudos this year with the Ryan Gosling-starring Half Nelson will direct and write the script alongside Nelson co-scribbler Anna Boden.
