Americans have once more proved that whatever the Brits can do, they can do it bigger. And in the case of Pop Idol – that Simon Fuller televisual horror that dominated our small screens last year – the Yanks have excelled themselves. Due to American Idol’s unbelievable success stateside – the final drew in a cool 22.8 million viewers – the unimagineable is starting to happen. Talks between Fuller and 20th Century Fox have raised the ugly head of a big screen version following the fortunes of the American winner Kelly Clarkson and her fellow finalist Justin Guarinin. For those at all interested in the pair, Empire Online is reliably assured that Kelly can rival even Will Young in the warble - and teeth - department and we’re quite convinced that Justin should have won on the size of his hair alone.
