Stanley Kubrick - who has maintained strict secrecy around his latest production Eyes Wide Shut - has disclosed that it is based on a 1926 novella Traumnovelle. Written in 1926 by Arthur Schnitzler the story concerns a doctor and his wife who enter a "sexual underworld".
