The cameras are cranking now, but the latest Stephen King adaptation to head into production isn't done announcing cast members. Game Of Thrones veteran Pilou Asbæk has nabbed a core role.
Gary Dauberman, who has form with King after writing both the more recent It adaptations, scripted the new movie and is directing, following up his debut in the big chair with Annabelle Comes Home.
The story sees Lewis Pullman as author Ben Mears, a man who returns to his childhood home of Jerusalem’s Lot in search of inspiration for his next book, only to discover his hometown is being preyed upon by a vampire, leading him to band together a ragtag group that will fight the evil presence.
Asbæk takes on the role of Richard Straker, the vampire’s familiar who prepares for the arrival of his master and does plenty of dirty work. Spencer Treat Clark, Bill Camp, Alfre Woodard, Makenzie Leigh and William Sadler are all in the cast for the film, which will be out in September next year.
