The first issue of Empire's exciting new TV-focused spin-off, Pilot TV, and it comes full to the brim with exclusive images and details on new shows. Among them is Kiss Me First, which kicks off tonight on Channel 4. Check out a brand new picture from the series above.

Loosely based on Lottie Moggach's book, Kiss Me First blurs the boundaries between the real and artificial for a teen drama that pokes at fears the internet is playground for predators. Our focus is on Leila (Tallulah Haddon), who just wants to escape her tragedy-stained real life existence. She finds an outlet through a VR system that takes her to the fantastical online world of Azana, where she meets the game's charismatic creator, Adrian (Matthew Beard). Unlike Ready Player One's benevolent (and, before the story even starts, deceased James Halliday), he's more of a threat.

"The story is all about the exercising of power on the internet," says the show’s creator, Bryan Elsley, who has form in parent-frightening teen drama as co-creator of Skins. "It’s the story of a cult... Adrian is the cult leader who gets his thrills from manipulating."

Cue a dangerous mystery developing, and spilling out into the real world... You'll be able to read more about Kiss Me First in the launch issue of Pilot TV, in all good and evil UK newsagents on Thursday, 5 April.
