Michael Crawford fans are getting rather uptight about the fact that the forthcoming Phantom of the Opera movie won't feature the ex-Some Mothers Do 'Ave 'Em, beret-clad star. Instead, Warner Bros are said to favour John Travolta or Antonio Banderas in the Gazza mask-wearing role. Funny, that. One fanatic, Diane Flogerzi, has supposedly set up a protest web page (although we can't find it) which says, "If this film is to star Antonio Banderas I will support and take part in a boycott of this movie and of Andrew Lloyd Webber's The Really Useful Company. They are not listening to their fans, and this fan is outraged." At least Crawford himself hasn't launched an Adam West/Batman-style, "It should be me," campaign. Yet.
Oooh, Betty
