Irving Rapper, one of Hollywood's Golden Age filmmakers, has died at the age of 101. Rapper, who worked with Hollywood's elite throughout his career, is thought to have succumbed to natural causes on December 20 1999. Before establishing himself as a director, London-born Rapper worked as a dialogue coach, then eventually moved into directing to helm some of the silver screen's all-time classics, including The Glass Menagerie with Kirk Douglas and the Oscar-nominated **One Foot in Heaven **and Now, Voyager with Bette Davis.
