Jack Nicholson has announced that he's taking on the job of assistant director to Italian director Michelangelo Antonioni in his latest movie, which will star Winona Ryder, Johnny Depp and Andy Garcia. His role as right-hand man to the frail old master isn't his first experience on the other side of the camera - he's directed four films in the past. The 1978 comedy Western, Goin' South, was best received, and was notable for featuring a fine comic cameo from John Belushi in his screen debut. The Two Jakes, a 1990 follow-up to Chinatown, was less well-received. Perhaps he's hoping to pick up some tips.
