Do you that sound? The ominous rumbling one? That would be the sound of something very, very bad happening to the Prometheus crew. Something involving severe nastiness. Something that will hold the fate of mankind in the balance. Something alien. But, hey, it's Friday! Let's not worry too much about humanity's imminent destruction in **Prometheus **and instead revel in Sir Ridley's action-packed new poster.
First thoughts? While it's a significant departure from the previous iconography of the Alien franchise, and there still seems to be some difficulty photoshopping the characters' faces into those Weyland helmets, it's plenty epic and captures whatever carnage awaits us in the film's fraught climax.
We've already seen this collision with the alien derelict in the second trailer- broken down here for your perusal - but it put the explosion into the context of the Vickers, David and Elizabeth Shaw's flight across the planet.
Things looked bleak for them in the trailer and they don't look an awful lot more encouraging here, unless, of course, the Galaxy Quest crew are parked just over the next ridge.
**Prometheus **lands in 3D, as well as traditional amounts of D, on June 1. If you can't wait for that, head over to our trove of Prometheus clips.
