The world got its first look at **Predators **at the SXSW Festival in Austin, a convenient stroll from producer Robert Rodriguez's Troublemaker Studios. The world was suitably impressed, albeit with expectation levels set to 'remarkably low' after suffering through the **AvP **series. Now, thanks to these three murky one-sheets, here's another look at what the reboot has to offer.
It's back to basics, in short. R-Rod protégé Nimród Antal has stripped the franchise back to its roots, with a storyline that pitches a cadre of vicious, godforsaken crims and hardnuts (and Topher Grace) onto an alien planet that doubles as the predators' hunting ground. It's the kind of place where even the squirrels will kill you and dance on your body for kicks.
This is the hostile environment the crew must endure. For Dutch, Dillon, Mac and co, read ex-mercenary Royce (Adrien Brody), Nikolai (UFC veteran Oleg Taktarov), Stans (Walton Goggins) and Isabelle (Alice Braga). Oh, and a heavily-armed Danny Trejo.
Their chances of survival are increased when they encounter Laurence Fishburne's grizzled survivor, the planet's one human resident. But by how much? Find out when **Predators **hits cinemas on July 8.
