New Izzard Movie Role

Flamboyant British comedian Eddie Izzard has reportedly signed up to play the evil disco king Tony Pompadour in the Universal-backed project, Mystery Men. Izzard's character will take on the righteous might of a host of comic book superheroes, played by Geoffrey Rush, Greg Kinnear, Ben Stiller and Janeane Garofalo. Izzard was introduced to American audiences when he appeared in the recent Ewan McGregor starrer, Velvet Goldmine. He also completed a successful three month run in New York with one man show Dressed to Kill earlier this year.
