It is illegal to mention a new Harry Potter film without making reference to it being the darkest yet. So, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix is set to be the darkest of the series so far. By film seven they'll be so dark that we will be presented with nothing but a black screen and occasional plummy screams from Hermione.
A new trailer, which has just gone live at AOL, gives a good look at the current grim goings on at Hogwarts and we very much likes what we see. Click here to see it. There's obviously the usual Harry being angered/Ron being sarcastic/spooks wafting around like farts on a breeze/someone pointing a wand directly at camera business that is the movie series' trademark. But we also do get a sense of this one being not suitable for little kiddies.
This is all about the villains. We get our first proper look at Imelda Staunton enjoying herself greatly in action as new head teacher Dolores Umbridge, a woman of boundless evil and countless pink cardigans. And there's a great deal of Voldemort sloping around looking like Faye Dunaway with one more facelift. We also get a proper sense of new director David Yates' visual style and we have to say we like his way of presenting the magic world with more of an eye for realism that fanciful flitters around the castle. Hopefully darkest yet should be best yet.
