After months of waiting, the first one sheet for Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull has arrived on the Indiana Jones official site.
Created by legendary artist Drew Struzan, the poster sees Indy, shirt sleeves rolled up, strike a classic pose of defiance and readiness against a backdrop of a huge crystal skull glowing demoniacally. Round the edges are various markings and imagery that will surely be deciphered come May 22. It is obviously so hot in The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull that Indy has taken off his trademark leather jacket. Let's hope there's a trustworthy cloak room.
To us, this seems a terrific introduction to the new movie — simple, striking, classic. If the teaser gives little away in terms of plot (no other characters are represented), it does suggest that the film is strictly in keeping with the previous episodes tonally, perhaps with leanings towards the PG friendly darkness of Temple Of Doom. Which can only be a good thing right?
What do you guys reckon?
