John Schwartzman, who has served as cinematographer on many of Michael Bay’s films and been Oscar nominated, is to get his first directing job.

Walden Media has hired him to helm Carlisle School, a based-on-truth tale of a rag-tag team of Native American football players (that’s American Football, not proper footie, so that sentence should perhaps read "Native American American football players") who became famous for defeating some of the top teams in the early 20th century under the guidance of coach Jim Thorpe.
